M. Rajasudha of B.A. English Literature has secured University I Rank in Part I Sanskrit.

V. Annapoorani of B.B.A. has received University II Rank in Part III Major.
R. Vijayalakshmi of B.A. History (Visually impaired) has secured University III Rank in Part III Major.
V. Janani Priya of B.Sc. I.T. has obtained University IV Rank in Part II English .
K. Indirarani of B.Sc. Zoology is the recipient of University V Rank in Part III Major.
During the competitions conducted by Women's Forum and Youth Welfare Department of Madurai Kamaraj University our student V. Janani Priya of III I.T. was adjudged “The Knowledge Queen” of Madurai 2004 and received the Gold Medal from the Vice Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

Our College has been accredited with B++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council , in September 2003.
The Silver Jubilee of our institution was celebrated with pomp and splendour in 1999
Thiru S. Gopalakrishna Yadav continued to be the Secretary of our college for 27 years and the Silver Jubilee was celebrated in 2003.
The N.S.S. units of our college received Best Blood Donars Sheild from Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai in October 2004. A certificate of commendation and a shield were given from the Integrated Education Implementation Committee affiliated to UPAHAAR – a service center for the visually impaired students.
College contributed Rs. 1,30,000/- towards Gujarat Earthquake Relief Fund besides clothes.
A Philanthropic gesture was shown towards Iran Earth Quake victims by donating Rs. 1,00,000/- by the Management, Staff and students.
Our college has received a Certificate of Appreciation for the best performance in the cultural programme conducted on the Republic Day from the District Collector and the Joint Director of Collegiate Education.
Our students have voluntarily donated Rs. 48,035/- towards YMCA KAMAK Deaf and Dumb School, Madurai.
Miss R. Vijaya Lakshmi (Visually Impaired) participated in the SUN TV programme – “ KODEESWARAN ”(Crorepathy) on 8 th Feb 2001. She has won Rs. 2,00,000/- as a mark of victory and magnanimously donated Rs. 40,000/- to the Kargil Fund. She had secured University III Rank in Part - III Major.
Selvi. Sherli of B.Sc Zoology and Selvi S. Thomas Betty of B.A. English Literature participated in the Republic Day Parade held at New Delhi .
Our college was awarded a shield for being the “ Best Maintained and Service Oriented Institution ” by the City Cultural Association, Madurai.
Mrs. S. Krishnammal, Department of Chemistry attended a workshop on Third World Water Forum , in Japan in March 2003.
To promote social and religious harmony, students of all religions gather during the Assembly hour to invoke the blessinging of the Lord Almighty. Readings from The BIBLE, The QURAN, and The BHAGAVATH GEETHA enlighten the students.
U.G.C. sponsored State Level Conference on Women Empowerment was conducted in our college.
DST sponsored National Level Conference on Mobile Computing was conducted.
DST sponsored International Conference on Group Discussion on Domination in Discrete Structures was conducted. It is proposed by the DST to setup a Library in our college focusing on providing access to literature on Discrete Mathematics and its Applications.
The Management, Principal, Teaching, Non-teaching staff and students purchased Handloom sarees worth Rs. 1,00,000/- from the Co-optex to help the poor weavers of Tamil Nadu alleviate from their poverty. This received commendations from the Ministers and many Officials. The programme was also widely covered by media.
Career Guidance Cell under the scheme “Earn while you Learn” provides job opportunities for economically challenged students.
Science Expo–2004 was jointly organized by all the science departments on 12 th and 13 th of February 2004 in our college in which 1200 students from seven schools visited and were benefited by this Expo. Response from the school teachers and the students was encouraging.
Inter-collegiate competition GENESIS 2004 was organized by the Department of I.T. on 7 th February 2004. Nearly 20 colleges participated in various events. The Department of Business Administration conducted an Inter-collegiate meet ZENITHAL 2004 in March 2004.
An Inter collegiate competition NEXUS 2K4 was organized by the Department of Computer Science on 27 th February 2004. During the competitions conducted by Women's Forum and Youth Welfare Department of Madurai Kamaraj University V. Janani Priya of III I.T. was adjudged The Knowledge Queen” of Madurai 2004 and received the Gold medal from the Vice Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University on 17.3.04.
Our students had the privilege of interacting with the Honourable President of India Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during October 2004.
S. Ramalakshmi of Commerce won I Prize in All India Painting Competition held at Chennai and had the opportunity to visit U.S.A.
C. Hema, K. Sumathra participated in the 47 th National Level Ball Badminton Tournament held at U.P. in October 2001 and represented the Tamil Nadu Team 2001- 02 at Cochin.
R. Rathika represented the Tamil Nadu Kabadi Team in the National games conducted in Punjab and in the 49 th National Kabadi Championship at Pune
K. Sumathra and C. Hema were selected to represent the Tamilnadu Ball Badminton Team and participated in the tournament conducted at Varanasi in 2002.
C. Hema represented Tamil Nadu Ball Badminton Team and participated in National Level Tournament in 2003.
V. Karuppayee represented the Tamilnadu Ball Badminton Team at Hydrabad from 04.01.05 to 10.01.05.
We have successfully organized 2 State Level Ball Badminton women fives Tournament in our college premises in the year 2002-03 & 2003-04 in which 17 and 25 teams participated respectively.
Our college players took active participation in the Inter University Tournaments representing Madurai kamaraj University in Various games like Badminton, Volley ball, Basket ball, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Ball Badminton. The college produced seven University blues in 2001-2002, nine in 2002-03, nine in 2003-04 and another nine in 2004-05.
We are proud to state that our college Ball Badminton team has retained the Winners position in the Inter-Collegiate Tournaments consecutively for the past 4 years.
Our institution has sent a proposal to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai to start a course on “Bio-informatics”.
The students and staff contributed Rs. 1,50,000/- towards the Tsunami Relief Fund through the District Collector, Madurai.

The accreditation by NAAC with B++ has encouraged the Institution to explore all avenues of institutional development and professional excellence. It enables the college to raise its standard to the level of a college of potential excellence. Autonomous status to the Institution will certainly open up new vistas to quality education and women empowerment.
